About the President
In December of 1993 Troy Paul started T.P. Transportation, Inc., a flatbed trucking company. He began operations from the barn in his backyard with only three trucks. He drove one truck and his wife ran the office. During the next five years, the company grew to 35 trucks and over $5 million in revenue.
In August 1998 Smithway Motor Xpress, a publically held company out of Fort Dodge Iowa, approached Troy about selling his company and working for in their much larger operation. Seeing an opportunity to learn and develop, Troy sold to Smithway and agreed to continue supervising the Enid terminal for two years. Troy and his staff grew the Enid terminal from 35 trucks to over 100 in under two years time. Troy was then promoted to Regional Sales and Operations Manager. This position included responsibilities for all of Smithway's terminals located in the western part of the United States. He managed flatbed, van, and dedicated fleets nationwide.
In December of 2001 Troy elected once again to start a trucking company but in a different arena from the flatbeds he was used to. From 2002 to 2004, he operated a small specialized heavy haul operation. Deciding once again that flatbed market was his area of expertise, in 2004 Troy started Paul Transportation, Inc. with 50 trucks and 75 trailers.
To date, Troy has created an energetic and innovative company using the latest in technology. PTI has over 300 trucks and 500 trailers and a staff with a combined experience of over 175 years, which has equipped Troy and PTI to become a leader in the flatbed trucking industry.
Troy truly believes that coming from a modest background and being raised by a single parent along with his grandparents clearly gave him the motivation to excel. Troy credits his success to his family's patience with the long hours away from home and a work ethic from drivers and office staff that is second to none.
Troy Paul believes work ethic is the key to success!!
